well that could be what happened, not likely but there could also be that your dad capped your bandwidth gap. Since streaming has a really high bandwidth gap like it holds open a lot more then it needs until it is done. What could be happening is that when it goes to open the file the router limits you and it takes it forever to open. Also it could be your internet connection if you are running comcast unplug your black box and your router for about 2 min. Yea it seems kinda long but trust me I have had to unplug it for upwards of 2 hours to fix issues. On Dsl not sure I guess a power cycle would work also. Once this is done ask your dad to check the settings and see if something is a miss. Maybe he changed something with out know. If none of this fixes your issues take the Ethernet cord from the modem and run it to your Laptop that should fix it all, if there is still a issue it is then your isp that is messing up and you need to contact them.
